G.A.A. News

"Get your superhot hot dogs here!" is the cry that will be heard at home football games this year according to Lynda Pagel '67, president of G.A.A.

Football concession stands are only one of the many activities G.A.A. assumes responsibility for. They also sponsor all Intramural sports for girls and the extramural tennis and badminton teams. Members get points for participating in these and also for participating in Pegasus Club, Girls' Bowling Club, Orchesis, and Aquiana. Every time a member goes to an afterschool activity she gets two points. These points are totaled at the end of the year, and an award is given based on the amount of points earned.

This year the responsibility of supervising G.A.A. 's activities falls to Miss Judy Coddington, the club's new sponsor. This is Miss Coddington's first year at Maine West and also her first year of teaching. She spent last year studying for her master's degree at Michigan State University and did her undergraduate work at Indiana State. As sponsor she hopes not only to increase membership, but also increase participation by the girls of the school in intramural activities.

One of the new Intramural activities this year is track and field. It is replacing hockey in the fall season.
