Sheila Quinn Heads SC
Organizations Committee

If you are walking down the hall and happen to bump into a 5' 4", blue‑eyed brownette, it is probably Sheila Quinn.

"Shelley," or "Shell," as she is called by her friends, claims that if she had two things to change about herself she would want to be "less scatter brained" and "learn how to walk without bumping into people!"

This active senior's present courses include drama, English IVAP, concert choir, government, geology, and French II. When asked if she had any favorite courses or teachers, "Shelley's" eyes sparkled; and she said, "I don't have a favorite course. I guess I just like 'em all. All of my classes are interesting and so much fun!"

Because of "Shell's" extracurricular activities, it is hard for her to find any spare time. When she does find a few moments, she claims to "sleep, sleep, sleep."

This year, Sheila is involved in Brotherhood Society, Ski Club, Senior Leaders, Pep Club, National Honor Society, and National Historical Society. V-Show's dance chorus also took much of "Shell's" time because modern dancing

is one of her hobbies. She was voted the co-captain of the Pom-Pon Squad and is kept very busy with her office as organizations chairman of Student Council.

"The organizations committee plans such things as Homecoming and Election Week. I really hope that the kids get 'fired up' so that we can make the upcoming Election Week the best that Maine's ever had!"

"Crooked lines, people who say 'I can't' without trying, and impromptu questions" was "Shell's" reply when asked about her pet peeves.

"Seriously, we have one of the greatest schools around; and there are so many opportunities open for willing students. Our faculty is one of the best because they have such close ties with the students, and I think this means a lot. There seems to be so much personal interest."

Sheila noted, "Freshmen don't realize how fast the high school years speed by. I think they should take advantage of their four years at Maine and have all the fun they can. After all, people have the rest of their lives to grow up."
