Judges Choose Lynda As
MW Homemaker

Lynda Pagel '67, by finishing first in a written homemaking and attitude examination for senior girls December 6, 1966, became Maine West's 1967 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow.

Lynda is now eligible for possible state and national scholarship awards.

A state Homemaker of Tomorrow and runner‑up will be selected from the winners of all schools in the state. The winner will receive a $1,500 college scholarship; her school will be given a set of Encyclopedia Britannica by Encyclopedia Britannica, Inc.

The Illinois Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow, together with those from all other states and the District of Columbia, each accompanied by her school adviser,

will join in an expense paid tour of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia, and Washington, D. C. next spring.

The national winner will be chosen on the basis of the original test score plus personal observation and interviews during the tour. Her award will be a $5,000 increase in her scholarship. Second, third, and fourth place winners will also receive scholarship increases.

This is the thirteenth year of the Betty Crocker Search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow, which was initiated in 1954‑55 by General Mills to emphasize the importance of homemaking as a career. More than five million senior girls have participated in the Search since its beginning.
