MW Clubs Attend South Workshop

On Saturday, February 11, delegates from Maine West's Pep Council, Student Council, M‑Club, Pom‑Pon Squad, and Cheerleading Squad attended a leadership workshop at Maine South.

According to Nancy Gunn, 67, Pep Club president, the purpose was "to discuss mutual problems concerning school spirit and acquire new ideas which will benefit the club as well as the school."

Nancy presided over the presidents' meeting and presented a formal proposal for a Northern Illinois Pep Club Association. The proposal was approved by attending presidents and sponsors from 45 Chicago and suburban schools. From this group a committee was set up to form an initial structure. This group will meet April 15 at Maine West.
