"My height!" is what Tom Kehe, this week's Warrior of the West would like to change about himself. Tom is 5' 4" tall and has blond hair and blue eyes.
Tom's favorite sport is baseball because it involves a lot of action. "It's a real challenge; you've got to keep planning ahead." He received his letter last year and hopes to earn another one this spring.
Concerning the baseball team, Tom predicts, "With a little luck we should take Conference; and if we get to pitching and hitting, we should make it downstate."
Tom asserts that the hardest part of training is "getting back into the groove." He adds, "Just working out in general is rough enough, though!" Through participation Tom has learned that baseball is not a one‑man sport. "Everyone has to work together."
"Put your mind to it and don't let anything else get in your way!" is Tom's advice for boys planning to play baseball this spring.

Although much time must be devoted to after‑school practice sessions, Tom claims that he manages to keep up with his studies. "I squeeze them in my spare time!"
According to Tom, the coaches are the most outstanding thing about Maine. "They're terrific! They are willing to give almost anyone an opportunity to participate."
When asked his views on school spirit, Tom commented that a sure sign of spirit is a large crowd assembled at a minor sports event.
Tom's most embarrassing experience occurred last year at the District Regional baseball game. With two bases loaded, a ground ball was whacked straight down center field, coming directly toward him. He positioned himself and prepared to catch it. Somehow he missed, and the ball went right between his legs. "I felt like digging a hole and jumping in!" Tom joked.
In the future Tom plans to attend Weaver Airline School. After that he hopes to enter an executive branch of the airlines as a career.
