National Honor Society To Hold
Annual Initiation

On Friday, April 28, the National Honor Society will hold its annual initiation for 102 seniors and juniors. The ceremony will begin at 8 p.m. in the Maine West auditorium. The faculty and the parents of the initiates are invited to attend.

The guest speaker for the evening will be Dr. Richard Short, superintendent of the Maine Township District High Schools. Four Senior Class members will speak on the qualities a student needs to become a member of the Society. The speakers will be Mary Beth Moll on service to the school, Norine Meister on scholarship, Richard Manny on leadership, and Norman Hudson on character.

Joe Richardson '67, president of National Honor Society, will act as master of ceremonies for the evening and will conduct the initiation ceremonies. Mr. Herman Rider, principal of Maine West, will present the students for initiation.

Joe Richardson will lead the initiates in a pledge after which each initiate will receive a card and a pin.

After the ceremony parents of the new members and faculty members will be invited to attend the informal reception in the cafeteria. At the reception they will be able to greet the new members and present officers of the society.
