The Maine West G.A.A. badminton team began practicing on February 28. They played their last game on April 6, ending with a conference record of 5‑1 and a suburban record of 6‑2.

They played eight schools, defeating Maine East, Glenbrook North, Glenbrook South, Niles North, Niles West, and Niles East and losing only to Evanston and Maine South.

Members of the team are Jan Rowan, Gail Branda, Judy Smith, Nancy Foust, Marilyn Kalata, Linda Wetendorf, Marie Marrese, Pat Quellmalz, Peggy Loebach, manager, and Bonnie Junius, captain.

"We are sorry to lose Bonnie Junius who is graduating in June. She was a four‑year badminton player and was among the top players in the suburban area," said Mrs. Peggy McCaw, sponsor of the team.
