The invitations are out, the posters are up, the band is hired, and the final preparations are in progress for the Junior Prom, "An Adventure in Paradise." The prom will be held on the evening of May 20 at 8 p. m.
The couples will dance in the atmosphere of the Tahitian Islands. Music will be provided by the Wayne Markworth Orchestra. Several new ideas are being used at this year's prom, the main one being the use of the auditorium. Refreshments will be served in R‑104, and the patio will also be open. For the convenience of the girls attending the dance, the elevator will be run by a special operator for transportation between floors.
Ron Coleberg, general chairman of the prom, commented, "Just about everything is finished, and the decorations are starting to be built. We're expecting 600-700 kids, and I urge everyone to come because it's going to be a lot of fun."

"We need all the helpers we can get to help put up the decorations," said Lorrie Vogtritter, chairman of the decorations committee. "The reason for this is that 'we're decorating a very large area this year. Besides the auditorium, the patio, R‑104, the halls, and the stairways all have to be decorated."
Anyone who is interested in helping should contact Phyllis Bergquist, Liz Bednarz, or Lorrie Vogtritter. Any weekend from now until the prom, decorations will be made at Liz Bednarz's house. The weekend of the prom, help will be needed at school from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Lorrie said, "The decorations should look really 'Wowie' if we have help from the juniors."
Proper dress for the prom is formal for the girls and dark suits for the boys. Corsages are in order.
Those in charge of the prom are Ron Coleberg, general chairman; Sharon Clark, invitations and bids; Diana Quinn, publicity; Kathy Kelly, refreshments; Linda Johnson, entertainment; and Lorrie Vogtritter, decorations.
