A Folk Singing Club has come to Maine West. The club meets every Tuesday after school and sometimes on Thursdays. It is sponsored by Miss Marjory Johnston, reading development teacher.

Jeanie Lane '69, president of the club, said new members are still welcome. The only requirement for a prospective member is to be genuinely interested in folk singing.

The club was started because Jeanie was extremely interested in folk singing and thought other students would be enthusiastic about it, too.

In the future the members hope to attend folk singing festivals and trade music among themselves. The club also would like to present some concerts for the student body. In addition to all of this, some club members are hoping to teach other members how to play the guitar.
