Cindermen Desolate Conant Cougars

The Warrior track team won their meet against Conant on Tuesday, April 25, by a score of 99 to 28.

Maine took the high‑hurdles when Hammer, Richter, and Pruitt, all of Maine, came in first, second, and third respectively.

The 100‑yard dash was a tie between the Warriors' Luebke and Conant's DeGravin. Both had a time of 10.6 seconds. Kahler of Maine was next to cross the line with a time of 10.7 seconds.

Ed Lusk of West won the 880‑yard run with a time of 2:01.6. Lee of Conant was second with a time of 2:04.7. West's Wolf was third with a time of 2:04.8.

The shot‑put event found Maine taking all three places. Szaltis, Bongratz, and Svenson come in first, second, and third respectively.

Maine's next victory was the 880‑yard relay with a time of 1:35.4.

Maine had a first and second in the 440‑yard run with Braun and Venema coming in first and second respectively. Conant's Quella and Brewer tied for third.

Again in the long‑jump Maine got a first, second, and third by Kahler, Beurons, and Klamer.

Hammer of West took first in the low‑hurdles with a time of 21.5. Richter and Pruitt of West came in second and third with identical times of 22.7.

Lee LaBadie of Maine took the mile event with a time of 4:19.3 Ledford of Conant was second with a time of 4:27.2. Chase of West was third with the time of 4:52.7.

The Warriors took another first, second, and third in the 220 yard‑run when Braun, Luebke, and Kahler made the trip in 23.5 seconds, 24.4 seconds, and 24.4 seconds.

Maine took a first and second in the discus throw when Schmidt hurled it 122' 6". Christenson of Maine threw the discus 118' 7". Wellintz of Conant was a close third with 117' 61/2".
