On Saturday, May 20, Maine West's Pep Club will hold a car wash in D‑wing parking lot. Pep Council and Pep Club along with the Cheerleading and Pom‑Pon Squads will wash the cars at $1 per car from 9 am. to 5 p.m. Juniors who plan to attend the prom will be given a special discount‑$.75. All proceeds will go to the Harold G. Baer Family Fund. Student Council, which had originally planned this car wash, donated it to Pep Club for the benefit of Mr. Baer's family.
The recently formed Ski Club held their first annual banquet Friday, May 5, at the Des Plaines Elks' Club. More than 50 members attended the smorgasbord dinner. Guests of honor included the faculty sponsors and the chaperones who accompanied the skiers to the Iron Mountain weekend last winter.
Officers for the '67‑'68 school year were elected at the dinner. They are Joan Terp '68, president; Bill Johnson '68, vice-president; Sue Lloyd '68, secretary; and Claudia Budney, '68, treasurer.

New Student Council officers and committee heads will be installed at the Student Council Banquet Thursday, May 25, at the Brass Rail Restaurant starting at 6:30 in the evening.
Each present officer and committee head will turn over his office to the incoming executive board with a speech. Mr. Eldon Burk, sponsor, and Sukru Gurel will also speak at the dinner honoring the achievements of those who helped to make Student Council a success. The most valuable member of Council and winners of special awards will be announced at this time.
May 25 also marks the date of the Music Department awards and banquet. Dinner will be served in the Maine West cafeteria at 6:30 to honor the four‑year awards winners.
Four‑year awards will be given to those students who have participated in music from their freshman to senior years. Presentation of these awards and Tri‑M initiations will take place in the auditorium immediately following the dinner. Those being initiated into this honorary club must have a B‑average scholastically and must have received an A in Concert Band, Concert Orchestra, Chorus or Girls' Glee. Maine West Music Boosters and Des Plaines Kiwanis are helping to sponsor this banquet.
