The seventh annual Maine East Relays which were held on May 5, opened with the running of the 440‑yard high‑hurdle shuttle relay. New Trier East came in first with a time of 63.5 seconds. Evanston was second with the time of 64.5 seconds. Third, fourth, and fifth went to Maine East, Maine West, and Waukegan respectively.
New Trier East won the second event which was the two-mile relay with a time of 8:03.2. Maine West was second with a time of 8:03.4; Lyons was third with the time of 8:05.6.
The 880‑yard varsity relay again went to the New Trier East Indians who won over Evanston, Lyons, and Maine South. The Warriors did not place in this event.
After winning the first three events, New Trier East fell victim to the Evanston Wildkits in the long‑jump event by the score of 21' 11" to 21' 1 3/4". Maine again did not place in this event.
The Warriors' first of three wins came in the 880‑frosh relay with time of 1:40.5. Lyons was second with 1:40.9. New Trier East was third with 1:41.2.

Maine West placed fifth in the sprint‑medley relays when New Trier East, Evanston, Lyons, and Maine East all came out ahead.
The Warrior cindermen did not place in the one‑mile sophomore relay, but Evanston and Lyons did tie for first Maine South was second and Highland Park was third.
In the shot‑put event Evanston placed first with a throw of 54' 11". Maine East was second with Maine South a close third.
Maine West got their second first when they ran the distance medley relay in 10:38.1. New Trier East was second with 10:53.7. Evanston, Maine East, and Lyons were third, fourth, and fifth respectively.
Maine got its third and final win of the meet in the pole vault event with a jump of 13' 3 3/4". New Trier East was second and Waukegan was third.
The totals for all the participating teams were as follows: Maine East, 25; Evanston, 92; Highland Park, 14; Lyons Township, 54; Maine South, 27; Maine West, 50; New Trier East, 90; Waukegan, 7.
