This week's Warrior of the West is George Bongratz. He has black hair, brown eyes, and stands 5' 9".
Currently George is participating in track, and he plans to earn a letter before the season is out. He has already been awarded two letters in football.
George's prediction for the track team is "We're good enough to take Districts!"
According to George, the most difficult part of training is the practice sessions. From these he has learned self‑discipline.
"Stick to it after you start" is George's advice to underclassman. He further elaborates, "Your distances will be short at first, but keep at it. It's not so much strength as it is coordination."
When questioned concerning what he thinks is most outstanding about Maine, George immediately replied, "The entire athletic department!"
George feels that school spirit could be a lot better, but he can think of no way to improve it. "Everything has been tried already."

Next fall George will attend North Dakota State University on a football scholarship. He will major in mathematics and electrical engineering.
George is a "B" honor roll student. He claims he manages this because he does not hold an outside job ‑ he divides his efforts between sports and studies.
"Kids who go out for a sport, then quit after the first week" is one of George's pet peeves. His other one is boys who supposedly fake injuries so they can get out of practice.
If George could change anything about himself, it would be "my weight!"
In his spare time George watches television.
In the future he plans to be an electrical engineer.
His favorite foods are steak and baked potatoes.
