"I wish that everyone would stop complaining about the school spirit," stated Marcy Richey, this issue's personality. "I think the spirit is as good as can be expected with everything the students have to do."
The 5' 4", auburn‑haired, blue-eyed senior is the secretary of her class this year and was last year, too. Also, she has participated in Aquiana all four years.
Marcy's hobbies include swimming, singing, and "playing the guitar a little bit." In the spare time that she does have, she is in her church choir and is in a folk‑singing group. "The rest of the time I waste!" exclaimed Marcy.
"The most important thing about Maine West are the students, and the best thing about the school is the freedom everyone has to join or not join as many activities as he wishes."
When asked what she doesn't like about Maine, she replied, "The difficulty it takes to get out of a study hall and the strict rules in a study hall."
She claims that her funniest incident occurred when she was walking with her girlfriend in the bus concourse and her girlfriend's skirt fell off.

"My most embarrassing moment occurred when I had to spend two periods outside looking for a thermometer that I lost two feet under ground. But I found it!"
This summer Marcy plans on being a waitress and then attending Evansville University majoring in nursing.
"My pet peeves are loudmouth girls, fat dachshunds, and teachers who give petty assignments just to keep you busy."
When asked what her favorite food was, she laughed, "I eat anything!" Marcy replied that after graduation she'll mostly miss all the parties that she had in biology.
Her courses this year consist of Biology IIAP, English lVE, government, democracy, trigonometry, analytic goemetry, and Senior Leaders.
"If I were to improve Maine in any way, I think that I'd go back to the eight period day," said Marcy.
Although Marcy hasn't traveled much, she claims that she would like to tour Europe and get a job there. Also, Washington is her favorite state. "I like it from all the pictures I've seen of it." So far she has been to only five other states, "and those are the ones around here!"
Marcy's advice to all the freshmen and those entering Maine is "Do what you want to do, instead of always following someone's advice."
