Jacob Jerger To Present Music Clinic

On July 20 Mr. Jacob Jerger, teacher of percussion, and six Maine West drummers will present a percussion clinic at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

Mr. Jerger was invited to give this clinic by the Illinois Music Education Association. Although he also teaches at New Trier and Evanston, he chose the percussionists from Maine West to accompany him.

The clinic will include demonstrations of several of the more recent marching cadences, halts, and roll‑offs. In addition there will be three drum battles ‑ "18 Heads," "36 Heads," and "54 Heads" ‑ which were 'written by Mr. Jerger.

All Illinois high school band directors and their leading percussionists have been invited to attend this demonstration which will take place in the Fine Arts Building of the university from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
