After a full week of work, twelve new Pom‑Pon girls have been chosen for next year's squad. Congratulations are in order for Linda Larsen '68, captain; Beth French '68, co‑captain; Carol Mollenkamp '68; Diana Blazek '68; Diana Quinn '68; and Vicki Anderson '68.

Also chosen were Pam Kariotis '69, Diana Townsend '69, Janie Leis '69, Laurie Bard '69, Laura Frey '69, and Donna DeFranco '69. Four of these girls have already been on the squad before.

Clinic for preliminary tryouts was held May 15 and 16 The tryouts took place on Wednesday, May 17. The finalists were 24 girls, chosen from the original 67, plus the four girls from this year's squad.

The following day, May 18, a one‑hour clinic was held for the girls to learn the routine for final tryouts. This routine was made up by this year's captain, Char Freeman. Friday, May 19, the girls performed one last time before the 12 new Pom‑Pon girls were chosen.

Judges for the final tryouts were Sheila Quinn '67, Char Freeman '67, Sherri Catardi '67, Joe Richardson '67, Greg Essig '68, Mrs. Nancy Kerby, Mrs. Nancy Kohls, Miss Eleanor Baldwin, Miss Marcia Storey, and Mr. Sidney Drain.

The finalists were judged on the basis of school representation, appearance, kick, splits, and co‑ordination. The girls were also called upon to perform in groups of three to be judged on group harmony.
