A tighter hold on second place was fastened by the Maine West tennis team which beat Prospect and Conant in their final two dual meets of the year. This brought the season tally in dual encounters to an outstanding 13 and 2 with only a single Conference loss. The win over Prospect by a 3 to 2 margin rather secured second position in the Mid‑Suburban League away from the Falcons of Forest View.
On Saturday, May 27, the Conference Meet was held; but due to the early deadline date of the issue, the results could not be made available for publication.
The scrappy Knights from Prospect gave the Warrior net. men quite a battle in their debacle, but the issue was no longer in doubt when the Maine first doubles team scored a victory. Scott Schlesser and Hank Blau were successful in that crucial match over Knights Stodxing and Pomplin.
