Trackmen Participate In State

Lee LaBadie placed second in the State track meet in the mile event with a time of 4:13.4. This time is the second fastest mile time in Illinois history.

In the pole‑vault event Jim Mueting placed ninth with a vault of 13' 4".

Also in the State meet, Ed Lusk placed twelfth in the 880‑yard run. Doug Chase wrapped up twelfth in the two‑mile event.

In the meet against Arlington the Warriors lost by a close score of 66 to 61.

In the two‑mile event Doug Chase and Jim Kesaris were first and third with times of 10:02.0, and 10:6.4. Saxton of Arlington was second with 10:02.1.

Luebke of Maine was the winner in the 100‑yard dash with a time of 10.7 seconds. Keating of Arlington was a close second with a time of 10.8 seconds. Maine's Hooper was third with a time of 11.1 seconds.

The Warriors took first and second in the 880‑yard run when LaBadie and Lusk came in with times of 1:56.; and two minutes flat, respectively. Dieters of the Cardinals was third with 2:02.9.

Maine got another first and second in the high jump event when Klamer and Behrens had jumps of 5' 8", and 5' 6", respectively. Arlington was third with 5' 6."
