Council Sponsors Homecoming Hop

The second Student Council record hop of the year was held after school on Thursday, October 5, in C‑wing gym.

The highlight of the afternoon came at 4:30 p.m., when the Homecoming Court for 1966‑67 was announced. Doug Chase '67, Student Council president, had the honor of ending the suspense after the nominees were presented.

According to Dolores Webster '67, chairman of the record hop committee, the Homecoming Record Hop is an annual event. The proceeds from the quarter admission and the sale of cokes were added to the Student Council treasury.

Joe Richardson '67, a member of the record hop committee, said, "On behalf of the Student Council, I wish to thank all those who may have felt a little overwhelmed by all the Homecoming activities."

The time from 3:45 p.m. until the announcement of the Court was spent in dancing to music of the Changing Tymes. The members include Russ Currer '67, lead guitar; Bob Kariotis '67, rhythm; Jim Glaser '69, bass; Mike Mayer '69, drums; and Mike Corey '67, lead singer. The group has played at various other school functions such as the Newcomers Party, which was the first Student Council sponsored record hop of the year. The Changing Tymes are a fairly new group, which originated at the beginning of summer.
