Great Pumpkin To Appear

"Hey, Seymour, guess what day this is?"

"Da, it's Monday, Harold."

"I know it's Monday! This is a very special day."

"Well, just don't stand there! Tell me!"

"Tonight's the night that the Great Pumpkin appears. It's Halloween!"

"For joy, for joy! Boy, I've been waiting a long time for this night. When are we going to the pumpkin field, Harold? Huh, Harold, huh?"

"Now don't get excited, Seymour baby. First, we have to get some costumes. I'll meet you here at 11:30 p.m. sharp. Don't be late."

"Nah, I won't. I wouldn't miss this for the world."

(A SHORT TIME LATER)

"Harold, is that you behind that ugly mask?"

"This ain't no mask, kid. Watch who you're talking to."

"Sorry about that."

"Seymour, here I am."

"Boy, that was a close one. I almost got my head knocked off by some bully."

"Okay, Seymour. The instructions say to go to the middle of the field and sit there. At exactly midnight one of the pumpkins will arise from the field."

"Hey, Harold. We've been waiting here for five hours. I don't think he's coming."

"Don't get shook."

"Well, golly, it's cold out here. How do you like sitting in the middle of a pumpkin field?"

"Wait, Seymour. Did you see something move out there?"

"Harold, I think it's him!"

"That doesn't look like the Great Pumpkin. This guy is wearing a red suit and has a beard."

"Oh, no, I don't believe it. What's Santa Claus doing here?"

"I'm going home, Seymour. First, you promised me that the Great Pumpkin is coming; and now, who shows up ‑ Santa Claus! What a gyp!"
