G.A.A Says
Girls Triumph, in Tennis

"Tennis Team A‑Go‑Go" were the cries being heard by the Maine West Girls' Tennis Team as they defeated Niles West Tuesday, October 11, and tied Maine South Thursday, October 13. The girls thus far are undefeated against Glenbrook North, Niles North, Maine East, and Niles West.

Single score matches of the Niles West match Tuesday, October 11, were Jane Engel (6‑3, 3‑6) and Dot French (6‑0, 6‑1). Doubles matches were Renee Gatsis and Donna Woolard (6‑2, 6‑1), Gail Branda and Karen Gatsis (62, 6‑1), Pat Clement and Ruth Christian (6‑0, 6‑2).

In the Maine South match Thursday, October 13, single scores were Bonnie Junius (63, 5-6, 2-6), Jane Engle (6-5, 6-2), Sue Stein (2-6, 3-6). Doubles matches

scores were Renee Gatsis and Donna Woolard (6-0, 6-4), Karen Gatsis and Gail Branda (6-2, 6-3), Pat Clement and Ruth Christian (6-3, 6-2).

Linda Pagel '67 is this year's president of G.A.A. "I wish more girls would participate in G.A.A. and play nights" are Linda's two wishes for improving G.A.A.

G.A.A. has a variety of activities including camping trips, archery, tennis, volleyball, and gymnastics. During the first quarter, archery will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and tennis will be held Monday through Friday for the teams.
