Intramurals

The sophomore football tournament ended Wednesday, October 19, with Coach Carsten's fifth period class winning the championship game. The final score of the game was 33‑0. Members of Coach Carsten's team were Roger Erber, Jim Murray, Pete Schmitz, Ron Wills, Tony Halachoulis, Bob Moehling, captain, Gary Heist, and Terry Carberry.

The Juniors will play their championship game during the week of October 24‑28.

On Wednesday, October 12, the annual Intramural cross country run was held. Only representatives from the Junior and the Freshman classes participated in the event. Taking first place for the class of '68 was Gary Smith with a time of 5:09. Louis Welch came in second followed by Jim Klein with times of 5:11 and 5:28

respectively. Fourth place went to Phil Neal while Steve Sogar took fifth, and Carl Dudczak came in sixth. The winning time for the Freshmen was 5:37, turned in by Gary Gyssler. Taking second was Steve Glenn, and Mike Heavy, captured third place.

Mr. Miley Hotchkiss, director of the Intramural program, stated that there will be a meeting of all boys interested in participating in an Intramural soccer tournament. "Competition will not be based on classes," stated Mr. Hotchkiss. If enough boys show an interest, they will form teams and play a schedule of games among the different teams. Coach Hotchkiss hopes that enough boys will show up at the meeting so three or four teams can be formed.
