ISSC Cites Qualifiers

Of the 11,097 semi‑finalists for Illinois State Scholarships, 87 are from Maine West. Examination scores and class rank at the end of six semesters were the bases for selecting the semi‑finalists. They were rated as follows: English 4, math 2, social studies 3, natural science 1, and class rank 6.

The semi‑finalists included: Regina Ahrens, John Balma, Anita Bergdolt, Bonnie Bernhard, Michael Bischof, Jan Bollet, Shirley Bortell, Christine Borzoni, Christine Calams, Mary Cambron, Stephen Carlson, Sherry Catardi, Douglas Chase, Harry Chiles, Patricia Clement, Colleen Conway, Candace Crowe, Reinhold Dankerl, Ellen Dick, David Eley, Diane Fehrenbacher, Karen Felix, and Charlotte Freeman.

The CEEB examination will be given Saturday, December 3, at 8 am. in R‑111. The SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) portion of the test will be given at that time. The Writing Sample and Achievement Test will be given starting at noon in the library.


Pep Club sold about $5,400 worth of candy during their sale. Their profit was about $2,160. Karen Krett '70 won $20 in a drawing shortly after the sale started. There will also be drawings for a 12‑inch television set, a stereo phonograph, a tape recorder, and an Instamatic camera.
