As Christmas approaches, the Boys' Club is busily making preparations for the Christmas post office and the Christmas Formal.
The post office will be located by the main office before school and at the head of the cafeteria during all lunch periods. It will not be open after school. It will begin December 19 and end December 22. Cards can be mailed to all three of the Maine schools.
Cards to be delivered to students at Maine West should be addressed with the student's name, homeroom number, and homeroom teacher. In the upper right-hand corner put the homeroom code number. Code numbers can be located in the Dial Tone, next to the student's name.
Cards going to Maine East and Maine South should have the student's name, homeroom number, homeroom teacher, and code number if it is known. In the left‑hand corner put the school's name.
Tom Christiansen, this year's vice‑president of Boys' Club, hopes "everyone will use the post office." He said that cards will be mailed for $.03 each and two for $05.
Ed Pluemer, Boys' Club president, feels "response is usually good" and said that the money will go for future Boys' Club sponsored projects.
The mail will be delivered to homerooms during homeroom periods nearly every day, depending on the amount of mail for each of the homerooms.
Cards to the other Maine schools are being delivered in cooperation with the Boys' Clubs at these schools.

Boys' Club will present its annual Christmas Formal, "Silhouettes in Blue," on December 17.
The dance will be held in the Maine West cafeteria, which will be lighted in blue and decorated with silhouettes. From 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. the formally dressed couples will dance to the music of Al Ford and his band. Refreshments will b e served in R‑104.
The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the court and the crowning of the queen. Starting Monday, the boys in each homeroom will nominate candidates from their class. Ten girls from each class will be chosen to run, and the boys in the homerooms will again vote. The girl from each class with the most votes will be the attendant; the senior girl with the most votes will be the queen.
Tickets for "Silhouettes in Blue" cost $2.25 per couple; starting on Monday, they will go on sale in the bookstore and during lunch periods in the cafeteria. Tickets will not be sold at the door. One of the couple attending the dance must have an identification card.
In charge of planning the dance are Larry Kahler '68, decorations chairman; Scott Gilmore '67, publicity chairman; and Jim Thompson ’68, refreshments chairman. They are working under the direction of Mr. James Killam and Mr. James Gary, sponsors of Boys' Club.
Ed Pluemer, Boys' Club president, says, "The Christmas Formal is the big dance of the season, one of the three biggest dances of the year. Buy your tickets early."
Mr. Killam added, "We feel that the Christmas Formal will be bigger and better than ever. The decorations chairman and everyone have been working so hard. Everything is on schedule. It should be one of the most successful dances ever held at Maine West."
