Faculty, Personnel To Enjoy
Annual Christmas Tea

Since the opening of Maine West eight years ago, the Home Economics department has sponsored a tea for the faculty, and office personnel during the Christmas season. One half of the faculty will be invited to the tea in the A‑106 living room' on Thursday, December 15. The remainder of the faculty will be invited on Tuesday, December 20, in C‑106. The serving will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will continue until 4:30 p.m.

The traditional favorite served at the tea is Wassail, a hot spicy cider that is served in addition to coffee or tea. Colorful cookies, fruit cakes, and various breads will also be served.

The informal tea is a cooperative effort of all the members of the Home Economics department. The girls in Miss Norma Benner's and Miss Katherine Gore's home planning and interior design classes will provide the decorations for the tea.

"We hope that these Christmas teas, which have become a tradition at Maine West, are enjoyed as much by the guests' as the Home Economics faculty enjoys planning

and preparing them," commented Mrs. Lucille Stiles, chairman of the Home Economics department.

Faculty members of the Home Economics department will be the hostesses at the tea. Other, faculty members who will serve as hostesses are Miss Fannie Krevitsky, Miss Mae Jean Engen, Mrs. Helen Clouser, Mrs. Francis Ringl, Mrs. Bernice Gundelach, Mrs. Judith Bovinette, Miss Mary Dueland, Mrs. Marian Pedersen, and Miss Dorothy Riddle. The music department will provide various types of entertainment for the event.

As an additional expression of, Christmas spirit, a booklet of Christmas recipes and decorations, many of which will be shown at the tea, will be given' to each member o the faculty by the Home Economics department.

Mrs. Stiles hopes that the system of having the tea two days instead of one will accommodate the large number of faculty members this year.
