The combined Cadet and Intermediate Bands and the Concert Band will be featured during the 90‑minute concert. This year a special wind ensemble will perform for the first time.

The Cadet and Intermediate Bands will perform first, presenting highlights from "The Music Man," a suite by Mozart, and "This Old Man."

The newly formed wind ensemble will play "A Serenade for Thirteen Winds," written by the Austrian‑German composer Richard Strauss, when he was 18 years old. The ensemble will also perform two other numbers.

Members of the wind ensemble are flutes, Delores Berndt '67 and Nancy Lilja '69; oboes, Kevin Dole '68 and Kathy Geertz '69; clarinets, Bob Schwenke '68 and Peg Loebach '68; horns, Dave Larson '68, Steve Smith '69, Rhonda Sundquist '69 and Pam Triebe '67; bassoons, Hank Blau '67 and Sharon Brownell '67; and tuba, Frank Grange '68.

The Concert Band will present the "Suite Francaise" by Milhaud, folk songs of France, "A Short Ballet for Awkward Dancers," "Mexican Shuffle" by the Tijuana Brass, and a preview of the music from The Flower Drum Song, the all school musical to be presented in the spring.

Mr. Michael Cuthbert, assistant director of bands, commented, "This promises to be a fast moving program with something for everybody." Mr. Cuthbert will direct the wind ensemble and the Cadet and Intermediate combined bands.

Mr. Robert Kuite, chairman of the music department, will direct the Concert Band.
