"January Thaw" was the theme of this year's tea for all senior girls and the faculty held on Tuesday, Jan. 17. The tea began at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria. The Maine West Girls' Club sponsored this event.
"Although the procedure for the tea is different this year, we're hoping senior girls will be as enthusiastic as they were last year. The tea has almost become traditional, and we should get a big turn out," commented Lynn Nielsen '67, this year's president of Girls' Club.
In previous years the senior girls invited the teachers to the tea. Since many girls, as well as the teachers, found the arrangement socially awkward, Girls' Club decided to invite all of the teachers themselves.

The committee heads for this year's tea were as follows: Nancy Kinder '67, tickets and programs; Anita Waskowski '67, entertainment; Melissa Amling '68, publicity; and Karen Plate '67, refreshments.
The officers of Girls' Club are Lynn Nielsen '67, president; Sue Gray '67, vice‑president; Linda Wilkins '67, secretary; and Donna Ladendorf '67, treasurer.
Miss Linda Jenewein and Miss Mae Jean Engen are this year's sponsors of Girls' Club.
