National Brotherhood Week
To Start February 19

"This year the Brotherhood officers hope to make the Society better and more successful than ever," said Pete Dellegrazio '67, president of Brotherhood Society.

Brotherhood Week is recognized nationwide from February 19‑26. At Maine West Brotherhood Week is from February 20‑24. On Monday of this week sophomores, juniors, and seniors will vote in their homerooms for the people of their choice. The freshmen vote on Tuesday. A taffy‑apple sale will be held Wednesday followed by Thursday's assemblies to announce the newly elected members. There will be a meeting Friday morning of all new and old members to elect next year's officers who will be announced at a banquet that night. A clothes drive will be held all during the week along with the Computer Dance ticket sales.

"Maine's first computer dance will be held on April 14. We are hoping it will be really great. A computer will match boys and girls according to how they answer questions about themselves and their ideal date. The price will be only $1 per person, and students will come stag," Pete stated.

The members voted to change the Brotherhood constitution in places. For instance, students will vote only for students in their own class. Pete commented, "By doing this, we hope to do away with the 'popularity contest' problem."

This year's officers are Pete Dellegrazio '67, president; Sue Ziehn '67, secretary‑treasurer; and Pat Clement '67, good will chairman.

"Brotherhood Society is becoming a very active and worthwhile organization under the direction of Pete and Mr. A.K.H. Cochrane," stated Monty Abbot '67, one of Brotherhood's three year members.
