The annual March of Dimes drive, sponsored this year by the Brotherhood Society, was held this past week. Last year Student Council collected a total of $306 for the March of Dimes. This total was more than the amount collected in 1965 ‑ $300.
The goal for the 1967 drive will be $400, according to Pete Dellegrazio '67, president of Brotherhood Society. Pete feels confident that the $400 goal will be reached and surpassed. "With over 3,000 students, a donation of $.25 per student will put us over our goal."
Money was collected by Brotherhood representatives in the homerooms and the cafeteria during the week of the drive. Unlike the TB drive, it was not on a class‑competition basis.
The March of Dimes proceeds are used for the care of children with birth defects and for the research and prevention of these defects. The proceeds are also used to fight birth defects through patient aid, birth defect centers, and education. This year's campaign theme is "Build Their Tomorrow."
