Gymnasts Win Over Palatine

The varsity gymnastics squad will meet Waukegan here on Tuesday, February 14, facing the Bulldogs starting at 4:30 p.m. After claiming a victory over Palatine 69‑33 and losing against Conant 81‑49, the Warriors will try to overcome the Bulldogs in a non‑Conference meet. So far the musclemen have won one meet and have lost two in Conference.

The Warriors were supposed to hold a meet against Prospect but because of the weather this meet is being re‑scheduled for February 18 here at 2 p.m.

On January 20 the gymnasts clashed with Conant. On the trampoline Tony Tyler placed fourth, and Howie Tyler finished fifth. Larry Scully, Ron Sass, and Steve Fox placed first, fifth, and sixth respectively on the side horse. Ron Sass took a first place on the high bar with Jay Carley and Rich Suda taking fifth and sixth places respectively.

On the parallel bars Ron Sass finished in first place; Gary Grooman was fourth; and Rich Suda finished sixth. John Holtz, Ron Sass, and George Corcoran placed third, fourth, and sixth respectively on the rings. In tumbling Rich Suda, Howie Tyler, and Ron Sass captured fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively.
