Brotherhood Surpasses $400 Goal

Today is the last day of Brotherhood Week at Maine West. This year Brotherhood Week was marked by many activities and events. Among these were the nomination of new members to the society, a taffy‑apple sale, clothes drive, and sale of tickets to the "Computer Dance." Earlier this year the March of Dimes drive was sponsored by the Brotherhood Society.

Nominations for sophomores, juniors, and seniors to the society were held on Monday, while freshman nominations were held Tuesday. The system of nomination was changed this year to help prevent the elections from becoming a popularity contest. Students were restricted to nominating only students in their class as opposed to previous years when nominations were held in the school at large.

Other activities which took place during Brotherhood Week were a taffy‑apple sale, held on Wednesday, followed on Thursday by assemblies to announce the new members of Brotherhood Society. Also featured during Brotherhood Week were a clothes drive and sale of "Computer Dance" tickets, the first dance of this kind to be held at Maine West.

The annual March of Dimes drive was also sponsored by the Brotherhood Society this year. The goal for this year's drive was $400. Pete Dellegrazio '67 announced in the Senior Class assembly on Thursday, February 17, that this goal had been exceeded by $110.
