After two weeks of tryouts, the singing leads for Flower Drum Song, this year's musical, have been announced. Over 100 students participated in the tryouts, and 22 were chosen by the judges as the performers.

The parts are double cast, so that each person will perform twice. Those chosen are Sue Dahm and Cheryl Swanson, Mei Li; John Harrisville and Dave Larson, Wang Ta; Cheryl Bard and Lorrie Ware, Linda Low; Ken Lorentz and Richard Schellin, Sammy Fong; Kitty Kinser and Pam Osborn, Madame Liang; Judy Dadabo and Lorraine Jensen, Helen; Geri Giorno and Marilyn Hajost, chorus girl;

Pam Triebe and Sue Ziehn, Susie; Carolyn Hummel and Carole Hway, Baayork; Sue Alkers and Barbara Kelly, Louise; and Bruce Bottger and Steve Swensen, Sam.

The play will be held April 20, 21, and 22 in the Maine West auditorium. This year there will be a special Saturday matinee held on the twenty‑second.

Tryouts for speaking parts are still being held, and anyone who is interested should contact Mr. Robert Kuite in the music office, A‑204A. Judging the tryouts were Mr. Wilbur Schafer, Mr. Robert Kuite, Mr. Paul Nettinga, and Mr. Garth Boyer.
