Thespians To Kohl Comedy

The second annual Thespian Society play, Arsenic and Old Lace, will be presented October 20 and 21. The play, one of the most famous American comedies ever written, will be directed by Mr. Garth Boyer.

The play is the story of two charming spinsters who help poor and lonely old men by putting them out of their misery with a pleasant mixture of arsenic and elderberry wine.

Their madcap household is set off by Mortimer, who tries to protect his aunts
from a murder charge, and Jonathan, who is looking for another victim to bring his record up to 13 murders.

Tryouts were held September 14 and 15. Viv Geiger '68 was chosen as Abby Brewster, Lorne Ware '68 as Martha Brewster, Bob Connelly '68 as Teddy, and Bob Aulert '69 as Mortimer.

The part of Elaine was double-cast with Karin Karner '68 and Gail Peters '69 alternating performances.
