Juniors To Profit From College Night

Puzzled by the problems of college choices? Tired of blindly sifting through those college catalogs and materials? College Night at Maine West is to be held on April 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The spring College Night will have about 100 colleges and universities represented. Juniors are especially urged to attend, but seniors and sophomores are also welcome.

The evening will be divided into three sessions, so that three separate college representatives may be seen. Each representative will give a short presentation; then questions will be answered.

Mr. James Killam career counselor, explained that the College Night this year has been combined with Maine East and Maine South. The fall College Night was held at Maine South.
The combining of the College Nights has drawn more college representatives because they re-alize that they will have a larger crowd for their presentations. This is also an advantage for the student, because he will have a better opportunity to learn about a greater variety of colleges.

Mr. Killam emphasized, "It is especially important that juniors take the spring College Night seriously. The more that the student can find out about the particular colleges that he is interested in, the easier his final decision will be.

"It is important for students to apply to their college choices, at the latest in the fall of their senior year."

Emphasizing the necessity of sending in those college applications early is the fact that Northern Illinois University closed admissions for the 1968-1969 school year on February 15.

Most state schools also require an early deadline for college applications.
