'Camelot' Highlights Prom

Where can any junior step into a transformed world of knights in shining armor and medieval drawbridges? The Junior Prom is the only answer.

The Junior Prom, "One Brief Shining Moment," will be held in the auditorium on Saturday, May 18. The title of the prom is a line of the title song from Camelot.

The prom committee chairmen are Ann Blonston, general chairman; Sue Dixon, bids and invitations; Nancy lower, publicity; Lise Pahnke, decorations; Laurie Schueler, refreshments; and Hans Wahl, entertainment.

The juniors will be dancing to the sounds of the Johnny Marlowe band. Not to be outdone, the decoration committee plans to engulf the auditorium with a mystical array.
A castle will be built off the stage; and flowers, pruned trees, and a center fountain will add to the illusion of a medieval courtyard.

The committees have been planning and working since mid-January. The bids and invitations have already been ordered

Strategic lighting will set the mood for the prom. Italian lights will illuminate the main staircase and the flowers in the auditorium.

Ann Blonston declared, "There is less than two months until the Junior Prom; and in order for the prom to be a success, juniors should try to help out with the necessary arrangements. Sparking class interest may be our biggest problem."

Barb Bednarz, Junior Class president, says of the prom, "It would be a miracle if we could get some beautiful men like in the movie."
