| Maine West's varsity golfers will begin their '67-'68 season this Tuesday, April 9, when they travel to Roselle Country Club after school to face Arlington. This meet will be the first of 11 dual contests to be held this season. The stickmen will also face Wheeling and Forest View before their first Conference meet here against New Trier West on April 23. Coaches Eugene Zuccarini and Richard Fulk again head the varsity and frosh-soph teams this year. Coach Zuccarini's varsity squad has five returning lettermen this season, one less than last year. |
Although the team lost Larry Coffman, Ken Lorentz, and Rick Merk through graduation, those returning will be Dave Grutzius, Ken Helfers, Dave Krowka, Tom Redmond, and Jim Reed. The boys are hoping to improve upon last year's record, when they finished second in the Mid-Suburban League and tenth in the District. For the '66-'67 golf season, Maine West placed second in Conference standing. The Maine West Warriors placed tenth in the District standing. |
