Student Body Gives Linda, Randy Vote of Confidence |
|||||||||
| The new Student Council officers were announced April 11 at the Election Jitney. President is Randy Hann, whose campaign manager was Carolyn Hummel; and secretary is Linda Wesolowski whose campaign manager was Bonnie Witzl. The other candidate for president was Bob Aulert, with campaign manager Bill Adair; and for secretary Marilyn Kalata, whose campaign manager was Lee Rodin. Campaigning began April 4 when the various headquarters opened at the homes of students. Active campaigning in school began on April 5. The headquarters remained open until April 8. On April 8 the candidates and their campaign managers spoke to the four classes throughout the day. Skits were performed which ranged from choirs singing to kids running up and down the aisles of the auditorium. During these assemblies the candidates were asked questions they had never |
heard before. They had to answer the questions on the spot, expressing themselves and their views in the short time they were allowed. A combo played in the auditorium before school on April 9. All the candidates were present and answered any questions the students asked them. April 9 was the last day of active campaigning. Voting took place on April 10 and 11 before and after school and during lunch periods. All during the two voting days, Student Council members counted the votes. The votes were tallied on Thursday before the Election Jitney which lasted from 8 until 11 p.m. Music was provided by the Bondsmen. The new president and secretary will relieve Ellen Sangster, president of this year's Student Council and Linda Wells, secretary, of their duties at the end of the 1967-68 school year. |
