Soroptimists Offer Scholarship Award
A $500 teaching scholarship, to be awarded this spring, is again being offered by the Soroptimist Club of Des Plaines.

The scholarship will be awarded to a senior girl, with a Des Plaines mailing address, who is planning to enter the teaching profession.

To be eligible for the scholarship, girls must rank in the upper half of their high school graduating class.

The headline for the application blanks was March 31. According to Mrs. Herman Herzog, chairman of the Service and Projects Committee of the classified women's service club, it is not yet known when the winner will be announced.
 Three $400 scholarships are available from the Mother's Club of Maine West. These scholarships are open to any student who plans to further his education in any college, vocational school, or other institute following graduation from high school.

The deadline for applications for these scholarships is May 1, 1969.

Other scholarship news: the Elks Club will announce the name of the recipient of their scholarship on Tuesday, April 30.
