Students Visit Homes

To make this Easter happier and more meaningful for retarded and handicapped children, the Girls' Business Club sent Easter baskets to Little City in Palatine.

This charity project was decided upon after the girls could not give their annual Christmas party at Maryville. Members of the club worked last week constructing the baskets which were taken by the officers to Little City on April 11. The baskets were then given to the children on Easter.

"Working on this project was lots of fun, and we felt as if we were really doing something worthwhile for somebody," commented Marilyn Fitzgerald '68, vice-president and treasurer of the club.

Officers of Girls' Business Club are president, Carol Vande Mark '68; vice-president and treasurer, Marilyn Fitzgerald '68; and secretary, Kathy Kallstrand '68.
On Wednesday, April 24, Mrs. Elizabeth Bryant's psychology classes of eighth and ninth periods are going to make a trip to the Mt. Prospect Nursery and Day School. After lunch, they will then make a visit to Clearbrook School, a school for the mentally retarded.

The entire trip is part of the child development study in psychology. The students will observe children at different age levels and the difference in physical, social, intellectual, and emotional growth.

The students will also observe the equipment in the two schools and the schedule that the students follow. The students from Mrs. Bryant's classes will confer with the heads of the two schools in order to hear an explanation of the purposes of the schools.
