| Senior competition in the intramural volleyball tournament was recently completed. Coach Ronald Brown's ninth hour class defeated Coach Brown's seventh hour class to become the champions at their level. Members of the winning team include Jim Mach, Gerry Boeckenhauer, John Whetham, Bruce Beilstein, Harry Gleason, and John Thvedt. On the other squad were Ron Colberg, John Doering, Leland Helwig, Jim Pagni, George Flosi, Jeff Rizzo, and Dan Sauber. The annual weightlifting tournament was scheduled for last Tuesday. Participation was on a class basis, and awards were to be given to the top five lifters in each class. The current activity in intramurals is water basketball. Four teams are pitted against one another each Thursday after school. |
Battles are now being waged for the trophies going out to the top intramural athlete of each class. The two boys who compile the highest number of points in their respective classes will receive a trophy. Although the point totals have changed already, a recent evaluation revealed Carl Dudczak and Bill Caddy to be leading the seniors with 502 and 418 points respectively. Bob Fowler, Gary Fairhead, and Tom Vanderwarren each have 345 points at the junior level. Sophomores Grant Pick and Bill Edwards have 340 and 335 points respectively. The freshmen leaders are Doug Laufenburger and Jim Jung with 325 and 285 points apiece. |
