Debate Team Plans Ahead |

| "If the students will give it a chance and go see what it is with an open mind, I know that it will be a very interesting and enjoyable evening for them" are the words of Mr. Merel Marine, debate coach of Maine West. Mr. Marine is referring to the Oxford Debate Team that will give a parliamentary debate next fall. The debaters of this team are "experienced and captivating speakers and conduct a very witty discussion that pleases their audience." |
Next year's debate topic will be "Resolved: That the United States should establish a system of compulsory service for all citizens." This could include such services as the military, Vista, Peace Corps, or some other governmental service. Mr. Marine urges all students their ideas and philosophies into words by participating in debate. All those interested should see Mr. Marine in B203 after school. |
