Music Department To Offer Recital |

| The Music Department's annual Solo and Ensemble Recital will be held this year on May 10, at 4:15 p.m. here at Maine in the choral, orchestra, and band rooms, as well as the auditorium. Participating in this recital will be all string players, various ensembles from the orchestra and band, and choral groups. A clinic workshop will be held for the various sections. The critics will be Mr. Boyd White, vocal; Mr. Olander, music director from Maine East, piano; and Mr. Huffman, orchestra director from Glenbrook North and South. Six ensembles from the beginning and intermediate orchestra will be presented. Among these are two string bass ensembles, three violin, and one viola. Eleven ensembles and numerous solos are being planned by the Concert Orchestra. Among the more outstanding are a Dvorak quartet, a Beethoven trio, and "Sonata No. 3" by Rossini. |
Piano solos will be presented by Donald Behrens, Linda Timmel, Sue Chamberlain, Donna Meyer, Peg Winkleman, Carolyn Hajost, Debbie Jahnke, Gary Michelotti, Diane Kempke, Beth Heller, Kevin Dole, and Vicki Harrison. Six vocal and numerous band and percussion solos and ensembles will also be presented. There will be one ensemble from each of the vocal groups. Included are the Beginning Girls' Chorus, the Beginning Boys' Chorus, Girls' Glee Club, a male and a female ensemble from the Concert Choir, and the Choraliers. Among the songs being planned by the vocal ensembles are "When Love Is Kind," "Which Is the Properest Day?" "Here Is Thy Footstool," "The Lord Is My Shepherd," "How Merrily We Live," and "All Ye Who Music Love." A duet by Pam Osborn '68 and Lorrie Ware '68 will be presented, among other duets and solos. |
