Racketmen Chalk Up Win |

| The Maine West varsity tennis team scored their second dual meet victory of the season this Monday when they visited Willowbrook and beat them 3-2. Although their conference record is 0-1, the Warriors were hoping to even it up when they traveled to Glenbrook South the next day. Warrior winners at Willowbrook were Bill Caddy, second singles, 6-0, 6-4; Bruce Baker, third singles, 6-2, 7-5; and first doubles team Dave Keehn and Jack Williams, 8-6, 7-5. Maine took a third place in the Aurora quadrangular on Saturday, April 27. In three dual meets the Warriors lost to Wheaton North 3-2 and Aurora West 3-2 but defeated Rich East 4-1. Against Wheaton North both doubles teams won. Williams-Keehn took a victory in two sets, while second doubles team Tom Tyler-Drake Mertes did the same. Tyler-Mertes did similarly against Aurora West, while Caddy was also successful in third singles. |

In the Maine East sweep Williams, Baker, and Keehn played first, second, and third singles, while the doubles teams consisted of Williams-Caddy and Tyler Mertes. The frosh-soph squad has been faring about the same. They also scored a 3-2 victory against Willowbrook, while Ron Finstad and Rick Cordts pulled out the only victory against Maine South in first doubles. Maine also won the triangular, beating both Forest View and Maine East. |
