Musicians To Attend Clinic |
|||||||||
| A Music Workshop will be held at Evanston on Saturday, May 18. "The primary purpose of the workshop," commented Mr. Robert Kuite, Music Department chairman, "is to provide constructive help for students." In the morning dance bands, ensembles, and show bands will perform; the afternoon program will include the band, orchestra, and choir. From 1 to 3 p.m. students will attend one of five workshop centers which include: woodwind, brass, strings, percussion, and voice. Four ensembles or groups from Maine West and Evanston will play for a professional critic or judge. The judge will hold a clinic for each group afterward. |
Students will attend an informal mixer from 3 to 4 p.m. which includes a short program, entertainment, and refreshments. The finale of the workshop will run approximately from 3 to 4 p.m. when a short concert and a performance from a selected ensemble in each workshop center will take place. Maine West students will participate in the following categories: vocal ensembles, show band, band, and orchestra. Vocalists will include: Girls' Chorus, Boys' Chorus, Girls' Glee, Concert Choir, Male Ensemble, and Choraliers. |
