Intramural Reports

The final results are in for the intramural weightlifting tournament, and the top lifters are as follows: the senior champion was Barry McDonough who lifted 385 pounds in three tries; for the juniors Mike Garms took first place with 345 pounds in three lifts.

Don Brennan, sophomore champ, managed 405 pounds in his three lifts. The only freshman in the competition was Mark Courtois whose three efforts added up to 390 pounds.

The most recent sport in intramurals was softball. The tournaments involving the juniors and the seniors were completed last week. On the senior level Coach George Jorndt's ninth period class came out on top. The team consisted of Ed Klecka, Bob Mack, Jeff Sorenson, Bill Steger, Ron Hartley, Mike Tamillo, and Rich Phelan.
The winners in the junior competition came from Coach David Kennedy's ninth hour class. Members of the team included Steve Waecker, John Lovering, Jim Morrison, Tom Mietus, Tom Buttner, Tom Curran, Joe Sanchez, Jim Webster, Dennis Smith, Larry Galowitsch, and Randy Breuscher.

In the race for the intramural trophies, which are awarded to the boys who have compiled the highest point totals in their respective classes, the leaders at the present time are as follows: seniors - Carl Dudczak with 507 points, juniors - Gary Fairhead with 545 points, sophomores - Bill Edwards with 430 points, and freshmen - Chris Wells with 330 points.
