Clubs Elect Officers, Tell Year's Activities |

| Maine West offers many clubs designed to meet the various interests of students. During the past year clubs have participated in or sponsored assorted activities. Most of the clubs have recently elected their officers for the coming school year. Girls' Club The new officers of Girls' Club are Laraine Mesavage '69, president; Diane Becker '71, vice-president; Beth Miller '69, secretary; and Cathy Bruhn '71, treasurer. They are initiating a big sister-little sister program for next year. Boys' Club Newly elected officers of Boys' Club include John Lovering '69, president; Gary Wolf '69, vice-president; and Mike Wolski '69, secretary-treasurer. The club's main projects were sponsoring the Christmas Formal and the Boys' Club Post Office. Forensic League National Forensic League's new officers include Craig Dudezak '69, president; Mark Millonas '70, vice-president; and Diane Glanke '69, secretary-treasurer. One of their big activities this year was to host the annual interscholastic debate tournament. Tri-M Some of the Modern Music Masters' new officers include Janet Pendergrass '69, president; Scott Hayward '70, vice-president; Mary Gianpetro '69, secretary; and Lynette Berry '69, treasurer. Tri-M participated in the Evanston Ensemble Festival and held a candy sale. French Club The new officers of French Club are Jean Gradl '69, president; Pat McCallum '70, vice-president; Diana Harp '70, secretary; and Denise DaPrato '70, treasurer. This year the club has endeavored to learn some thing about the customs, culture, and traditions of France. |
Spanish Club Newly elected officers of Spanish Club include Wendy Ishihara '69, president; Cookie Smith '70, vice-president; Sue Plate '70, secretary; and Pat Jacobson '69, treasurer. A highlight of the club's activities was to have dinner at the restaurant, Los Amigos. Math Club Math Club's new officers are Connie Hopkins '70, president; and Greg Reinhart '69, vice-president. This year Math Club received its charter from the National High School and Junior College Mathematics Club, Mu Alpha Theta. Bowling Club The new president of Bowling Club is Bonnie Kueker '70. This year the club had its regular all-year tournament, plus a one month high pin tournament and a Scotch-doubles tournament with the faculty. Pegasus Club Pegasus Club's officers for the coming year include Debby Zub '70, president; Phil Hennessy '69, vice-president; Jan Osborn '71 and Lura Bornhoeft '71, secretary; and Kay Lowden '71, treasurer. The members competed in the Maine West Horse Show on May 5. Business Club New officers of the Girls' Business Club include Nancy Veith '69, president; Cindy Head '70, vice-president; Barb Shute '69, secretary; and Margie Pelinski '70, treasurer. Their major project was to make Easter bas-kets for the children of Little City in Palatine. Diversified Occupations Officers of Diversified Occupations will be elected in the fall. A highlight of their activities was the employer-employee banquet. Each member invited his employer to a dinner in appreciation for employment during the recent year. |
