Maine West Presents Two School Plays |
|||||||||
| After a long month of hard work and rehearsals, the Maine West Thespian Society put on their all-school play, Arsenic and Old Lace, last Friday and Saturday nights. Attending the play were between 800 and 1,000 spectators. All profits obtained went to the Thespian Society treasury. Faculty sponsors of the play were Mr. Garth Boyer, director; Mr. Robert Pelikan, stage sets; Mr. Robert Rupar, publicity; and Mr. Robert Norris, sponsor of the Thespian Society. Students responsible for the play include Bob Connelly '68, Thespian Society president; Alice Mott '69, stage manager; Linda Peterson '68, cover designs on programs; Kathe Wilson '68, props; Lee Rodin '68, tickets; Bob Henrich '68 and all of the lighting crew; the stagecrafters; Drama Class II, makeup; and the entire cast. |
Take Her She's Mine will be this year's Senior Class play. The play is scheduled for the nights of November 30 and December 1 and 2. Bob Connelly describes it as being a "sophisticated, light comedy." The play was held on Broadway for a long run with Art Carney starring. Although recently made into a movie and shown on television, "The play itself is much better" says Bob. Mr. Pelikan will be designing the three-piece, impressionistic set; and costumes will be of modern dress. Casting will be held the last week of October and first week of November. |
