| For Carole Hway Homecoming was the most exciting weekend of her life. To her all the wonderful events of those days sped by as if they were a dream. "I still don't believe it - it seems unreal." When Carole heard her name called, she couldn't react at first. "Everything blacked out. I guess I was just shaking." Later that night she found it difficult to sleep. Instead she walked around the house until 2 a.m. "Every time I'd look at the crown I'd get all excited again." |
Carole enjoyed the tea held in the faculty lounge for all the girls and their parents. The only complaint she had was that "I couldn't see what I looked like before going up to the dance for the crowning." Another change in Homecoming plans that Carole approved of was moving the dance from the cafeteria to the auditorium. "I was glad it was in the auditorium. It was so much prettier." The climax of the weekend was the crowning. Carole stated, "It was really something walking down that long aisle." With her crown as a constant reminder, she will never forget the thrilling experience of being Homecoming Queen. |
