| By MIKE WISNIEWSKI First of all, congratulations are due for the varsity football team. The whole team turned in a superb performance for the Homecoming game. They scored four touchdowns and turned in their highest offensive total of the season. The battling defense kept the opposition from scoring a single point. The team was really fired up for the game and with the addition of a few regulars, who had been out of action the last three games, the team won the game in great style. The Glenbrook South Titans must have taken lessons from their brother school Glenbrook North. The "gentlemen" from South collected as many personal fouls as Glenbrook North. However, the players from Glenbrook South added a new angle to their methods of acquiring fouls; they were blessed with three delay of game penalties. I wouldn't worry too much |
about this because they were evidently trying to cool off the fast-moving Warriors who were pushing them back on each play. There must be some students from Glenbrook South who are failing in their history lessons because if they had studied their text books they would know that the Civil War was over. Maybe they should quit waving Rebel flags and get passing grades in history. If they continue to bring Rebel flags to our games, we should bring Indian flags. It's too bad that many people were forced to walk around during much of the Homecoming game trying to find seats. With the addition of our new lights and because many more people are now able to attend on Friday nights than on Saturday afternoons, the seating for home games is not enough. It would be nice to see the Senior Class donate enough money to purchase the materials to expand the present home stands to seat at least 500 more students. |
