Aquiana Club Presents Show |
|||||||||
| If one attended the 1967 Aquiana Show, "Where the Action Is," he would have seen Chris Peterson '68 as Miss America and the Chicago skyline in the Maine West pool, not to mention Mr. Michael Cuthbert as "Big Daddy" of WH2O. The action was seen by capacity crowds November 2, 3, and 4. The evening started with the Choraliers, directed by Mr. Wilbur Schafer, singing "Come to the Fair" and "Deep Purple." The first act was performed "go-go" style, to "Where The Action Is," in keeping with the theme of the show. "Over the Rainbow" provided music for the duet by Peg Scheuneman '68 and Cheri Schueler '68. Next was "Campus Coeds" including Terry Stoner, Ted Loska, and Chris Olander, all juniors. "Catnip Trip" by Linda Wells '68 received a large round of applause from the audience. Rushing the baseball season were the "Batting Belles" with "Take me Out to the Ball Game" as background. "Feminine Flickers," a take off on silent films was next. Dressed in red, white, and black were the three spys in "Spy vs. Spy vs. Spy." "Pretty Pagentry," a salute to Miss America with Chris Peterson was next. It was followed by four sophomores: |
Barb Kelly, Sue Winn, Bill Hall, and Terry Matyja. Following the diving, the pool was the scene for "Soul Surfin' " to "Pipeline." The highlight of the evening was "Dancer's Duet" by Beth French '68 and Chris Olander, accompanied by the theme from "Exodus." "Born Free" provided music for "Freedom's Fate" following the duet. Jitterbugging to the "Spanish Flea" in "Jitterbugs" were Carol Carstens '68, Karen Stevens '69, and Sue Winn '70. A solo by Pat Campbell, "Spring Fever" followed. With Frank Sinatra singing "Chicago," the Chicago skyline was formed in the pool in "Sparkling Skyline." Closing the show was the finale with the entire cast. Mrs. Peg McCaw, sponsor, wishes to thank the student body for its support by attending, and feels the success of the, show was due to the interest and enthusiasm displayed by the members. "The originality of the themes and choreography of the numbers was done entirely by the girls and is a direct reason for the outstanding show," Mrs. McCaw stated. |
